Next World Food Champion Revealed Saturday on CNBC

Ten World Food Champs. Three Creole challenges. One winner. That’s what foodies and followers of “Food Sport” are about to see unfold as the next World Food Champion is announced on August 24th on CNBC at 11 am CDT.

The one-hour television show, entitled “The Final Table: New Orleans,” captured all of the passion and creativity of a world-class food fight as ten aspiring cooks and chefs descended upon the Big Easy earlier this year. They were the category champs who emerged from WFC’s Main Event in 2018, where they won $10,000 each and beat out more than 490 other cook teams. This time, however, they were going head to head for a shot at $100,000. Their challenge? To master creole-inspired cuisine and impress local restaurateur’s like Dickie Brennan and Chef Rich Lee at Antoine’s.

The 2018 category champions that competed in WFC’s Final Table challenge were:

“This was a tremendous and challenging Final Table,” commented Mike McCloud, President & CEO of WFC. “Our event has always produced fantastic champions. But this one put a whole new spin on it, and our new champion really had to impress the best.”

Other judges involved in the process MasterChef star Katie Dixon, Two-time Pasta Champion Suzanne Clark, Chef Ryan Rondeno, Chef JD Eubanks, Sysco’s Corporate Chef Raymond Yakelis, and Tableau’s Executive Chef John Martin

In the final $100,000 dish round, Restaurateur CEO Rick Blount also joined the panel of judges to represent the oldest family-owned restaurant in America, Antonie’s

So mark your calendars and tune in to watch “The Final Table: New Orleans” this Saturday on CNBC at 11 a.m.
