FYI Orders Cooking Competition Series, Adds Two Pilots

9:16 AM PDT 4/30/2014 by Philiana Ng "Midnight Feast" gets a six-episode order and will be hosted by Spike Mendelsohn. FYI is getting into the culinary competition space.  The A+E Networks-owned cable network has ordered the six-episode series Midnight Feast, hosted by chef/restaurateur/TV personality Spike Mendelsohn and set in New York's Chelsea Market.

  The battle was spicier than ever in the fourth annual Top Local Chef competition, produced by LocalShops1 and Intensity Academy. But only one chef could go home with the Top Local Chef title and a wild card spot in the World Food Championships in Las Vegas, where he will compete for prizes up to $500,000.

Through the Eyes of a Food Judge at the World Food Championships

by Heather Tallman  Last November I traveled to Las Vegas, for the first time, to serve as a judge at the World Food Championships. I was asked late in the summer to attend and judge the sandwich and dessert categories- so of course I said yes! For the last 4-5 years I have judged countless food events in Indiana from cocktail contests to maple syrup recipe contests, BBQ to bacon.
