WFC Responds To COVID-19

As the leader in Food Sport, all of us at the World Food Championships (WFC) have been monitoring the current situation with COVID-19 and its impact on our industry. While the last week has been unprecedented, we want to assure our partners, contestants, sponsors, volunteers and judges that this is NOT a time for fear and panic. Quite the contrary, it is a time for precaution, preparedness and common sense. To that end, we are having numerous conversations and assessing all of the guidelines that are coming out of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and our national leaders, as well as our local leaders in cities where our numerous events are currently scheduled.

Port Aransas Expands Its Food Sport Menu of Events

The sandy beaches of Port Aransas (Port A) and Mustang Island are getting a wave of culinary events coming to its beautiful 18-mile sunny shoreline. Thanks to its third year as the official Texas gateway to the World Food Championships (WFC), Port A is set to host two premier Food Sport events in 2020 – the WFC Super Chefs qualifier and a new judge certification class.

WFC Adds More State Partner Qualifiers for 2020

As Food Sport season gets underway, WFC has been working hard to develop strategic alliances and qualifiers to provide more ways to qualify into the 2020 championships, which will be held Nov 6-10th in Dallas. With more than $350,000 on the line and a new category slated for this year’s event, there’s definitely a Texas-sized amount of buzz occurring throughout the nation for Food Champs looking to claim the ultimate prize in competition cooking!

Two More Ways To Book Your World Food Championships’ Stay

When it comes to attending the world’s largest Food Sport event, the last thing the World Food Championships (WFC) wants its foodie fans and competitors to worry about is where to stay during the five-day event this November. With the Dallas-based event’s Official Host Hotel –– Element Dallas Downtown East (a Marriott property) –– quickly filling up, WFC has expanded its special-rate accommodations list additions from the Hilton group.

Minnesota Cook Raises the Steaks with $10,000 Win

For most cooks, climbing the ranks in Food Sport can take years. But for one Minnesota Food Champ, it only took two appearances to claim a Category Championship title at the World Food Championships (WFC). As the newest World Invitational Steak Champion, Ryan Hegland’s $10,000 award-winning steak earned him a seat at the $100,000 Final Table Challenge this May.

WFC Taps Alabama Coasting For Final Table Magazine

More than 1,400 cooks from 42 states and 15 countries attended the World Food Championships (WFC) during its 8th annual search for the ten best culinary athletes and artisans from around the globe in Dallas, Texas. With the attention now turning to WFC’s $100,000 Final Table Challenge in Indianapolis, Indiana, WFC has enlisted the help of long-time partner Alabama Coasting to produce an exclusive magazine to highlight this year’s Category Champs and host site destination.

California Caterer Earns $10,000 and Two-Time World Sandwich Champion Title

Kelli Fairchild-Cochran has proven that you can strike gold twice in the culinary world as she recently claimed her second world title at the World Food Championships (WFC). The self-taught Californian cook beat out a field of talented cooks and chefs to reclaim the World Sandwich Championship title, a $10,000 prize, and a seat at the $100,000 Final Table Challenge that will occur in August 2020.

WFC Continues Wild Card Elite Program

The World Food Championships (WFC) recently released over 100 qualifying events for its 2020 Main Event being held Nov. 6-10 at Fair Park in Dallas, Texas. These competitions, along with many others in Barbecue and Steak, are held throughout the year as gateways for aspiring chefs, home cooks and pro teams to qualify into the Ultimate Food Fight.
