The 7th Annual World Food Championships (WFC), presented by Walmart, is pulling everything out of its pouches for its 2018 main event in November. In a few short months, over 1,500 chefs and home cooks from 41 states and 14 countries will meet at The Wharf in Orange Beach, Alabama to battle it out for more than $350,000 in cash and prizes.

Former NFL Champion Steps Into Food Sport in a “Souper” Way

The World Food Championships (WFC) announced today that former New England Patriot Defensive End Jarvis Green and his company, Oceans 97, has signed on as an Official Food Sport partner for the 2018 competition in Orange Beach, Alabama. As a part of the new partnership, Oceans 97 will be joining Natural Tableware to co-sponsor WFC’s first Soup-or-Bowl Sunday event, which will be held on November 11 during the five-day food tournament. In addition to providing Soup-or-Bowl competitors with Oceans 97 shrimp to use in their dishes. Green will also help to determine this year’s World Seafood Champion as a Top Ten judge.

WFC Adds New Partner to the Ultimate Food Fight

The World Food Championships announced today it is joining forces with a major duck supplier, Culver Duck Farms, for this year’s main event in Orange Beach, Alabama. Culver Duck, who raises a premium white Pekin duck breed, is joining the world’s largest Food Sport event to feature its products in two unique ways at this year’s championship.

The largest Food Sport competition in the world held its inaugural Food Champ University (FCU) event its hometown headquarters of Cookeville, Tennessee this past weekend. The three-day workshop offered attendees an in-depth look into the growing industry and helped educate aspiring Food Champs on opportunities within both the brand and event spaces.

Idaho Potato Commission Announces Online Qualifier

Earlier this year, WFC announced its new partnership with the Idaho Potato Commission and revealed that the organization, which celebrates the American Heart Association certified heart-healthy Idaho® potato, will be bringing its 4-ton potato on an 18-wheeler truck to the 2018 Ultimate Food Fight held in Orange Beach, Alabama this November!
