Orange County mom takes home top honors at Bull Burger Battle

With just four seconds left on the clock, Kelly Lucas-Shippey barely turned her burgers in on time for the Bull Burger Battle in San Diego, presented by Bull Outdoor Products, Inc. But according to the judges, it was well worth the risk. Shippey’s SoCal Blackstrap Sliders, featuring a tangy Blackstrap sauce, bacon and a little heat proved to be the competition favorite, affording Shippey the first place win.

Big Bite Bacon Fest at the Queen Mary was a Delicious Bacony Time for All

Saturday, August 2, a sold-out crowd of FOB's (Fans of Bacon) converged on the Queen Mary in Long Beach for the Big Bite Bacon Fest. The event consisted of two parts, the Bacon Fest itself, where guests were able to taste unlimited samples of bacon dishes such as bacon-wrapped jalapenos, bacon wrapped hot dogs, bacon flavored ice cream sundaes and even sliced chocolate-covered bacon.

U.S Potato Board Partners with World Food Championships

Those who compete in the World Recipe Championship event will have to incorporate potatoes into their recipes. The U.S. Potato Board will host the #TopTater Tournament of Champions event which will pit returning champions against one another in a cooking competition centered on potatoes, according to a news release.

The World Food Championships announced Tuesday its Super Regional qualifying event, the Southern Illinois Showdown, will happen at the Praise the Lard Barbecue Cook-off on Sept. 19-20.

The World Food Championships announced today that the United States Potato Board (USPB) has officially signed on as a partner for the 2014 competition, which will be held in Downtown Las Vegas, November 12-18.

Craniums' crab nachos are Taste's Best in Show

Craniums at the Beach, a restaurant planned to open here later this summer, will be participating in the seafood division of the 2014 World Food Championships in Las Vegas. Craniums earned an entry in the World Food Championships by winning the Best of Show People’s Choice during the 10th annual Taste of Cambridge, held Saturday, July 12.
