Indianapolis, IN – (October 27, 2024) – The World Food Championships (WFC) is excited to announce a unique partnership with SSP America for activation at the Indiana Grown at the Farmer’s Market restaurant located inside the Indianapolis International Airport. This collaboration brings two limited edition, exclusive menu items to travelers, highlighting the upcoming World Food Championships event taking place at the nearby Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center from November 8-12, 2024.
The special menu, available now through mid-November, showcases culinary excellence inspired by award-winning dishes from past WFC champions, offering a preview of the world-class food sport experience consumers can expect.
The first featured item is a classic comfort food with a gourmet twist:
Italian Grilled Cheese and Tomato Bisque – This pairing features smoked provolone, parmesan, and basil pesto on griddled sourdough bread, served with a rich tomato bisque. Indiana Grown is a statewide initiative that supports local farmers and producers by promoting Indiana-made agricultural products. With members from all 92 counties, the program connects consumers to locally grown foods, strengthening Indiana's agricultural economy and celebrating the state’s farming heritage. Opened in 2023, the restaurant is a partnership between the Indianapolis Airport Authority, the Indiana Grown initiative and its members, and SSP America, which operates restaurant venues at airports throughout North and South America.
Since its debut in 2012, the World Food Championships has attracted a global following, providing unique culinary experiences at live events and through numerous television appearances.
