WFC Announces a Red-Hot Sponsor for the Sandwich Category
ORANGE BEACH, Ala. (September 1, 2016) –The World Food Championships is giving its Sandwich competitors a chance to go for the gold this year. Namely, Red Gold.
Now in its 5th Anniversary, WFC announced today that Red Gold Tomatoes is presenting and spicing up the World Sandwich Championship this year in Orange Beach, Alabama. From infusions to quality products and demonstrations, the Indiana-based manufacturer of premium quality tomatoes will be integrated into the Ultimate Food Fight in a variety of ways.
Red Gold’s Huy Fong Sriracha Ketchup is the required (or “infused”) ingredient for the Top 10 round of Sandwich, where the best of the best compete for $10,000, the title of World Sandwich Champion, and a spot at the Final Table where $100,000 is up for grabs.
Red Gold will also make its debut in the WFC Pantry with the following items available for competitors to use: Red Gold Sriracha Ketchup, Mustard, Ketchup, Barbecue Sauce, Relish, and a variety of canned tomatoes.

Not only will Red Gold provide product for competitors during the competition, but they’re also going to help Food Champs qualify for the Ultimate Food Fight. The Red Gold “Bring Your ‘Wich to the Sand” Online Recipe Contest invites chefs and home cooks to submit their most delicious sandwich creations. (Read more below for contest details.)
Red Gold will also be included in Tasting Village, Showcase Demonstrations, and in gift bags for competitors, judges, and bloggers.

Red Gold’s “Bring Your ‘Wich to the Sand” Online Recipe Contest
Calling all chefs and home cooks! Red Gold’s “Bring Your ‘Wich to the Sand” Online Recipe Contest kicks off at 8 a.m. CT on Friday, September 9th.
For this contest, all recipes must use a Red Gold Product, be it tomatoes, sauce, ketchup, salsa, juice, or Huy Fong Brand product. To find a list of products, click here, or to find a store locator, click here.
One Grand Champion will be granted a waived registration fee to the World Sandwich Championship and a $500 travel stipend. Four runners-up will receive a Golden Ticket (qualification only) to the World Sandwich Championship.
All recipes must be submitted through WFC's Facebook page by 11:59 p.m. CT on Monday, September 19th. You can find the “Food Champ Recipe Contest" on the left-hand side navigation under Apps on the WFC Facebook page. As a reminder, photos are required in order for an entry to quality.
