Florida Strawberry Growers Association Food Champ Recipe Contest Winners Announced!

We kicked off the 2016 Food Champ Recipe Contest slate in the sweetest way we could think of, with Dessert entries featuring strawberries! We thank our friends at the Florida Strawberry Growers Association for partnering with us for this contest.

After looking at dozens of entries, our judging panel honed in on a clear winner...this Strawberry White Velvet Torte with Strawberry Mascarpone Buttercream Frosting & Fresh Strawberries, submitted by Brenda Watts from Gaffney, South Carolina!

For her winning entry, Brenda nabs a registration-paid Golden Ticket slot in the Dessert category at the 2016 World Food Championships in Orange Beach, Alabama this November, plus a $500 travel stipend.

Strawberry Margarita Upside Down Cake with Tequila Whipped Cream, submitted by Lu Holder of Hudson, Wisconsin

Strawberry Citrus Upside Down Cake with Caramelized Strawberry Sauce and Magic Strawberry Dust, submitted by Laurie Lufkin of Essex, Massachusetts

Strawberry & Cream Stuffed Mini Bundt Cakes with Sugar Pearls & Warm Chocolate Caramel & Strawberry Sauces, submitted by Nancy Manlove of Texas City, Texas

Triple Strawberry Neapolitan Pavlova Mini Cakes, submitted by Lauren Katz of Ashburn, Virginia
