Metro® and World Food Championships Renew Partnership to Elevate Kitchen Arena and Beyond in 2025

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – (September 3, 2025) – The World Food Championships (WFC), the world’s largest Food Sport competition, is excited to announce the return of Metro®, the global leader in foodservice storage and transport solutions, as an official partner for its 2025 Main Event in Indianapolis.

For the past five years, Metro has helped transform Kitchen Arena into the ultimate culinary stage by outfitting all competition stations with its industry-leading foodservice equipment and storage systems. Designed to maximize efficiency and workflow, Metro’s solutions ensure that the world’s best chefs and competitors can perform at their peak during the high-pressure battles that define Food Sport.

In addition to powering Kitchen Arena, Metro will help to revive a WFC fan- and competitor-favorite this year as host of the WFC Chop Challenge, presented in partnership with ZWILLING. The exciting competition platform will showcase Metro’s versatile PrepMate MultiStations alongside ZWILLING’s world-class knives, giving both professional chefs and foodies a front-row look at how top-tier equipment and tools can transform prep work into culinary excellence.

Metro is also expanding its footprint in the WFC Tailgate Zone, where dozens of BBQ teams will put their skills to the test. Each participating team will receive a Mightylight ML180XL Series Insulated Top-Load Food Carrier, helping them keep their creations at peak serving temperature. To further reward culinary excellence, the top two BBQ teams will each take home an additional prize: Metro’s ML800HC-CART Mightylight Insulated Food Delivery System (retail value $1200), a premier solution for transporting and maintaining food quality.

“Metro has always been about empowering culinary professionals with smarter, more efficient tools,” said AJ Zambetti, Director of Creative & Brand Communications at Metro. “We’re proud to once again align with the World Food Championships to showcase not just our products, but the incredible talent and passion of Food Sport competitors. From Kitchen Arena to the Tailgate Zone, we look forward to helping chefs elevate their performance at every stage.”

Mike McCloud, President and CEO of WFC, echoed the excitement; “Metro’s innovative equipment solutions have become an integral part of our competition environment. Their PrepMates, storage systems, and insulated carriers truly help our chefs perform at championship levels. We couldn’t be more excited to renew this partnership and give our BBQ teams and Kitchen Arena competitors the tools they need to succeed.”

The 2025 World Food Championships will take place October 16–19 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center with over 400 competition teams battling for their share of $450,000 in prize money and the coveted title of World Champion. The weekend will also feature the 58th annual World Championship Chili Cook-off and unique ticketed attractions, including the Taste of WFC Premium Experience (with optional Sizzle Pass enhancement) and the IGNITE! WFC Music & BBQ Kickoff Party taking place on Friday, October 17.
