The Sky's the Limit for Nancy Manlove

The Sky's the Limit for Nancy Manlove

For a woman who began her last career in outer space, Nancy Manlove came down to earth with the passion of someone who found her calling. Following retirement from a successful stint with the Space Shuttle Program, Manlove soon discovered that her acclaim as an excellent home cook could translate into notoriety as a Chef.

Always reaching for the stars, she earned her Culinary Arts Certification in 2012.

This Houston-based chef with a heart the size of Texas found a common-interest circle of friends as she transitioned her competitive spirit into the world of online recipe contests. When she entered the kitchen arena as a food athlete, Manlove learned that years of experience in corporate America fostered her innate skills like having to adapt quickly, thinking on her feet and challenging herself to develop creative concepts – all a complete fit for food sport.

“Everyone should get ready to battle to the last round and plate with me,” laughed Nancy Manlove. “I can’t imagine why any Chef wouldn’t love this!”

Manlove’s enthusiasm and high energy has led to success in the culinary field inside competitions and out. Currently, she serves as a private chef, provides cooking demos, works with event and menu planning, innovates recipes, consults with kitchen set-ups, is a bonafide food stylist and works with food photography. And, as if that wasn’t enough, this fall, Manlove will add reality television star to her ever-expanding resume as she debuts on the Food Network in “Cutthroat Kitchen.”

“Life will always throw hiccups,” she said, “It’s all about how you can reinvent yourself and never accept ‘no’ and to realize that you make your community one friend at a time.”

And friends as well as fans she has! Manlove has served as an ambassador with the champions for World Food Championships almost since its inception. She has become a tireless and accurate communicator of details via her competitors’ Facebook page where any current WFC competitor can get accurate updates, helpful information and maybe even a few tips.

This year, Manlove will return to the WFC in the Seafood Category. She won the Penobscot McCrum online contest earning her place in the Category above and beyond her automatic qualification as a serious Seafood Champ Contender..

For a passionate and skilled chef like Manlove, the sky’s the limit….
