Central Florida's BBQ Blowout

Central Florida’s BBQ Blowout is Central Florida’s newest event!  This Florida BBQ Association- sanctioned event will be held at the Oviedo Mall on May 24th and 25th, 2013. BBQ Blowout will not only become a signature event in the community, but it also is for a great cause. Two organizations, the Oviedo-Winter Springs Regional Chamber of Commerce and HOPE Helps Inc. bring their strengths together and invite you to join in helping our communities.

The good times get going Friday night with a concert performance by Leland Grant (from The Voice), followed by a headline performance by country music recording artists Steel Magnolias.  Saturday is Festival Day, featuring both professional and amateur BBQ competitions, Truck and Tractor Show, craft brews, live music, lots of fun activities for the kids and much more.

The World Food Championships is excited to announce Central Florida’s BBQ Blowout as an automatic qualifying event to its second annual culinary competition in Las Vegas. At the conclusion of Central Florida’s BBQ Blowout, taking place on May 25 at 1700 Oviedo Mall Blvd., the grand champion will be presented with the official golden ticket invitation to compete at the World Food Championships this fall.

“The opportunity for a food competition to send their champion to the World Food Championships is a testament to its status and prestige as a top-flight food sport event,” said Mike McCloud, President and CEO of Trybe Targeting, producers of the World Food Championships.  “We’re looking forward to welcoming an incredible group of competitors as they take to the field in a clash of culinary titans!” 

The second annual World Food Championships is inviting champions from the world’s biggest and best food competitions and online recipe contests into a single food competition for a battle for fame and a piece of the $300,000 prize purse.

In 2013, the World Food Championships will be a tournament-style competition inclusive of several rounds leading to the all-defining moment at the Final Table. In the end, the champions from the seven competing categories will vie for the ultimate World Food Champ title in front of a panel of food celebrity judges. This year’s categories are: Barbecue, Chili, Burger, Sandwich, Dessert, Bacon and Recipe.
