U.S. Army Joins World Food Championships as an Official Military Partner for 2025

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – (September 4, 2025) – The World Food Championships (WFC) is proud to announce a new partnership with the United States Army for its 2025 Main Event, taking place October 16–19 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center in Indianapolis. As an official military partner, the Army will showcase the vital role its Culinary Specialists play in feeding and fueling America’s Soldiers - both at home and in the field.

Throughout the event, the Army will feature its state-of-the-art 40x40 field kitchen in WFC’s Tailgate Zone, where they will prepare 125 meals each day (Thursday, Friday, and Sunday) with a special emphasis on serving Veterans in attendance. This activation not only highlights the Army’s commitment to supporting those who have served, but also demonstrates the skill and dedication required by its culinary teams in delivering hot, nutritious meals under any conditions.

Beyond serving meals, Army Culinary Specialists will lend their expertise in Kitchen Arena on Saturday, October 18, when they serve as coaches and advisors during WFC’s highly anticipated Battle of the Branches competition. Their involvement will showcase how Army food service experts use the Army Field Feeding System and Mobile Kitchen Trailers to sustain troops in even the most challenging environments; ensuring Soldiers remain strong, energized, and mission-ready.

“Food is fuel, and nowhere is that more evident than in the U.S. Army,” said Mike McCloud, Founder and CEO of WFC. “We are honored to welcome the Army to WFC 2025, not only to celebrate their culinary specialists but also to give our Food Sport fans a chance to experience firsthand how critical these men and women are to sustaining our nation’s defense. Their presence adds an incredible dimension of skill, purpose, and patriotism to our event.”

Army Culinary Specialists are responsible for ordering supplies, managing inventory, and preparing meals in both garrison and field environments. Their efforts significantly boost morale and energy levels among troops while ensuring Soldiers remain combat-ready. By bringing their expertise to WFC, the Army will highlight the strong connection between food, performance, and resilience — whether on the battlefield or in the world’s largest food competition.

The 2025 World Food Championships will take place October 16–19 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center with over 400 competition teams battling for their share of $450,000 in prize money and the coveted title of World Champion. The weekend will also feature the 58th annual World Championship Chili Cook-off and unique ticketed attractions, including the Taste of WFC Premium Experience (with optional Sizzle Pass enhancement) and the IGNITE! WFC Music & BBQ Kickoff Party taking place on Friday, October 17.
