WFC Announces 2022 Biscuits And Jampionship Qualifier

The year of the pandemic may have left a sour taste in most mouths, but not for food sport fanatics. That’s because one of the World Food Championships’ (WFC) sponsors, The Jelly Queens, sweetened 2020 by holding a biscuits, pickles and jam recipe challenge. After an overwhelming response, THE Jelly Queen herself, Donna Collins, has already decided to set her sights and taste buds on 2022. She and organizers of WFC just announced an official search for the best, healthiest jelly/jam recipe through a new contest – The Pyure Challenge –– that’s officially open for submissions and closes this Summer, 2021.

“Whether it’s an event at WFC or a qualifier, The Jelly Queens always know how to sweeten things up and treat everyone like royalty,” said Mike McCloud, President and CEO of WFC. “We’re so excited that Donna and her staff are already gearing up for 2022 through this new qualifier that features another one of our great Food Sport sponsors, Pyure Organic.”

WFC sponsors The Jelly Queens and Pyure Organic have teamed up to host a 2022 Biscuits and Jampionships Qualifier, where chefs and home cooks are challenged to create a delicious, healthy jelly/jam recipe. Submissions are being accepted now through July 16, 2021, and the rules are simple. Contestants are to submit an original jelly or jam recipe and are required to use the following ingredients and products: Pyure Organic Sweetener, Pomona’s Universal Pectin and Fillmore Container Jars.

Whether you’re a professional chef or home cook, the contest is open to anyone globally. Recipe ingredients and instructions should be emailed to donna@thejellyqueens.com. In addition to emailing the healthy jelly/jam recipe, each contestant must mail two jars to The Jelly Queens’ headquarters (305 West Louisiana Street, McKinney, TX 75069) to be judged in person by E.A.T.™ certified judges.

Unlike previous Biscuits and Jampionship qualifiers, there will only be one Grand Champion of this contest, who will be receiving qualification into the 2022 Biscuits and Jampionships Challenge that will be held at WFC’s 10th Annual Event in Dallas, Texas. The winner will be announced on WFC’s Facebook Page on August 5, 2021.

Full contest rules are available here.

About World Food Championships

The World Food Championships (WFC) is the highest stakes food competition in the world. This multi-day, live event culinary competition showcases some of the world's best cooks who compete for food, fame and fortune in 10 categories (Bacon, Barbecue, Burger, Chef, Dessert, Recipe, Sandwich, Seafood, Soup and Steak). In 2019, more than 450 culinary teams from 11 countries and 42 American states competed in WFC’s Main Event. In August, the 10 Category Champs went head-to-head for a $100,000 bonus that determined a new World Food Champion in a TV special called The Final Table: Indianapolis. While contestants have to earn their way into WFC by winning a Golden Ticket at a previous competition, potential judges are welcome to take WFC’s online certification course that explains the E.A.T.™ methodology. Certified judges then request and receive available seats at the next scheduled WFC event. Click here to learn more about getting certified.
