Team 'AfroKiwi' is head cook and golden ticket winner Sindy Smith, and assisted by her husband Roger Smith. Sindy and Roger infuse their unique 'Afro - Kiwi' twist into their cooking by incorporating their culture and personality into their cooking, with Sindy originally from South Africa and Roger from New Zealand - now residing in Melbourne, Australia. Former competitors on the popular TV cooking reality show 'My Kitchen Rules', team AfroKiwi are no strangers to the pressure and intensity of competitions and competing at the 2023 World Food Championship is an amazing opportunity for them to showcase to the world their culinary skills, their synergy in the kitchen working together and their creative, succulent and delicious burgers. 2023 has been a very productive and eventful year for the couple, with winning the burger division golden ticket coinciding with theĀ opening of their cafe 'Vuvu Telo' in Docklands, Melbourne, where not only their burgers will be on offer. Team AfroKiwi is honored to be representing Australia at the World Food Championship and looking forward to experiencing the atmosphere of the event, meeting the other passionate contestants from around the world and the hospitality of the beautiful city of Dallas, Texas. As the sayings go from their respective backgrounds....'she'll be right mate...this is going to be very 'Lekker' and 'sweet as bro' !
