HEAD COOK: Atsushi Kimura

COMPETITION: World Barbecue Championship


Atsushi Kimura has over 20 years of BBQ experience. The first contact with B.B.Q was when he was 15 years old, he gathered his close friends to host B.B.Q (more like Japansese Yakiniku style) outside along a river in his local area. He still can't forget how people looked happy and enjoyed not only food but also sharing time with them. After that he realized that Texas had been one of the world capitals of B.B.Q, and imediately flew there in 2013 to learn real American B.B.Q techniques. In the same year, Kimura opened his own Texas B.B.Q restaurant "B.B.Q KIMURA" at Tokorozawa in Saitama. Due to not many Japanese are familiar with American B.B.Q, Kimura put his lots of effort on teaching attractiveness of it to people visit his place while serving burgers as main sales maker. After a while with his effort, he got a lot of new B.B.Q heads around him, then decided to fly to Taxas again to elevate his skills to the next level. In 2021, he knocked teh lengendary B.B.Q house "SNOW BBQ" in Lexignton in Texas He said " I learnet not only technical skills but also learnt more philosophy and heart that how to treat people with BBQ" from them. His B.B.Q life never stop improving until now and from now on as well.
