COMPETITOR

Manas, India

HEAD COOK: Manas Manoj Waghmare

COMPETITION: World Vegetarian Championship

Hello Everyone, I am Manas Manoj Waghmare, I am 21 Years old and from Mumbai, India. Meet my Mom Yashumati Manoj Waghmare who flew all the way from India to support and help me in this competition. We are competing as a team in this competition, representing our culture and our country INDIA. World Food Championship has given me once in a lifetime opportunity to prove the power, flavour, and culture of India. Currently, I am a Full-time student at Dallas College persuading AAS in Culinary Arts. I started helping my mom with cooking when I was 13 years old in my home kitchen. Most of my recipes and flavour inspirations come from my mom who has been a homemaker for a long time and has excelled in cooking in her entire life. My school Lunch Box used to be an everyday surprise for me and my friends. I made so many friends by sharing my Lunch Box, there were even days when my Lunch Box was finished in the blink of my eyes. I realized that winning a person's heart or making them happy is by making their taste buds happy. Throughout the process, I developed a passion for cooking and started cooking with my mom. Not only my mom but also my dad was fond of Indian BBQ ie (Tandoor). My father taught me how to tandoor in our backyard on special occasions and we became really good cooks at home. I would thank my dad who supported me until today and believed in my passion for cooking and sent me abroad to persuade my degree in Culinary Arts. I am the first person in my entire family to leave my home country for education and to excel in the culinary field. Mostly very rare Indian parents would let their kids become a chef. Other parents encourage their kids to persuade common professions or all-time favorable professions. But my parents encouraged and supported me to pursue in a field of my own interest. I feel without my Dad and Mom's support this day would be impossible for me to make it this far. My Goal is not only to make space in this competition but also to inspire other Parents and Youth that "Passion and Hardwork Leads to Excellence "
