Chef Nick Gunn is the owner – operator of McCarthy & Bailey’s Irish Pub and 419 Catering + Events at The Big Snug.
Chef Nick was born and raised in California. He graduated from high school he went on to play college football and baseball at Concordia – Nebraska, and also there he met his wife Sarah while in college.
After serving at the Executive Chef in Dover, New Hampshire and Anderson, South Carolina Sarah wanted to come back home to Iowa. Chef Nick and Sarah moved to Sioux City when Chef Nick took the Executive Chef position at the local private country club. He helped open McCarthy & Bailey’s in 2011 and three years later he bought it.
