HEAD COOK: Brandon Burleson

COMPETITION: World Sandwich Championship

Executive Chef Brandon Burleson's cooking style is influenced by the bold flavors from New Orleans to the Caribbean, the availability of fresh gulf seafood, and the traditional southern dishes he grew up to love. He will truly bring a unique twist to the American classics. His innovative creations featuring sustainable seafood and local produce and meats meld together to create Chef Brandon’s signature Gulf Rim flavors. Born and raised in Georgiana, AL, Brandon is a proud graduate of Auburn University with a degree Hotel & Restaurant Management. He started his culinary career at the The Hotel at Auburn University & Dixon Conference Center followed by an Executive Sous Chef position at the Perdido Beach Resort in Orange Beach. Prior to coming to Central, he returned to Auburn University as the Executive Sous Chef for the opportunity to once again work in the kitchen where he held his first cook position. Chef Brandon has represented Alabama across the country competing in events such as the National Shrimp Festival Restaurant Challenge in which he took home top honors. Chef Brandon has also competed in three consecutive World Food Championships placing in the Top 15 all three times including a 2nd place finish in 2016. Brandon is also heavily involved with Culinary Fight Club and Fight2Feed and helping bring these organizations to Montgomery in efforts to showcase the talent and food culture from Alabama as a whole. In 2014, Brandon was recognized by the Alabama Restaurant and Hospitality Alliance as a Finalist for Chef of the Year. He recently served as guest chef for Auburn University’s International Quality of Life Awards Banquet at the United Nations in New York, NY. He is now excited to be representing Central Restaurant and Montgomery, AL wherever his next culinary ventures take him. Chef Brandon is an avid supporter of local farmers, cheese makers, beer makers and artisans. Alongside his passion for cooking, is working with high school and college culinary programs with a goal to not only enhance their culinary skills but also to showcase Alabama as a viable option to live, work and contribute to the ever growing dining scene.
