Don't let this gray hair fool you! This Professionally trained Chef Grandmother of eight is full of high energy, tenacity, and creativity. She has proven time and time again that "It is NEVER too Late" to pursue a dream and that life offers SECOND Chances. After 37 years of working in Corporate America, Nancy went back to school and completed her culinary studies at Galveston College in 2013. And recently, Nancy was named one of the TOP Female Chefs of Houston and she will be presenting one of her signature bites at the October International Women's Forum for 600 fellow movers and shakers from around the globe. Besides being a competitive cook and an avid food sport enthusiast, she currently handles personal chef assignments, schedules cooking demos in your home or business, food service demonstrations and lessons, works with culinary event planning, menu planning, recipe development, chef collaborations, kitchen set-ups, real food stylist and food photography clients. She mentors to local culinary students as to the broad base of opportunities within the food industry and also serves on the Advisory Committee of the Culinary Arts Department of Galveston College. She is an active Professional member of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Galveston Bailliage.
She has won many cooking competitions and contest and has been published in cookbooks, publications, etc. She has supported many other award winning chefs; cooked for top corporate firms and has served as a judge in many regional cooking competitions and cook-offs, including the Food Network's Star Kid's Chef Nation. She is a FINALIST in Season 13 of the Food Network Star which began airing on the Food Network on June 4, 2017. In Fall of 2015 she WON Cutthroat Kitchen (Food Network) and returned as 1 of 16 winning chefs in their Time Warp Tournament in June 2016. She holds the brigade title of Chef de Cuisine at 'eculent' a boutique modern farm to table dining experience in Kemah, TX and together with owner/culinary artist David Skinner they have formed eculent Fine Catering & Events and TWO The Table TV. She is also a chef member of Chef's Roll Ambassador Program. Her favorite cuisines are Heritage Cooking covering Regional, National and International flavors, especially Spanish, Asian, French, German, South American and Southern. She cooks it all in NANA's Kitchen! She earned this year's Golden Ticket by winning the 2016 Barilla Pasta Best Chef Creations Contest sponsored by Barilla Pasta and Chef's Roll.
