Marlen Wensel is a food artisan with a passion for the Middle Eastern flavors she grew up with in Jordan. Her parents cooked dishes passed down for generations and she loves creating small batch spice blends and sauces that reflect her heritage. Through her business, Apricot Sun, she uses her spice blends to share her heritage and love for food at local events and farmers markets in Indianapolis. Marlen is delighted with the response and feedback she gets from her customers. Using her spice blends, Marlen’s newest creation is her Charcuterie Board Sauce which is quickly becoming a staple for local home chefs, butcher shops, and culinary classes. Her innovative partnerships with chefs, retailers and distributors nationwide allows her to share and showcase the vibrant flavors that she loves. Participating alongside Marlen is Sous Zack Bishop of Ball State U. who has won several awards at Carmel High School, Cheftacular annual food competition.
