COMPETITOR

Cledis Burgers

HEAD COOK: Shane Nasby

COMPETITION: World Burger Championship

Shane Nasby is a Nashville-based restaurant developer and chef. After building a career in the world of corporate marketing, Shane took a leap of faith to leave his day job and pursue his dream of entrepreneurship by founding a catering company (HoneyFire). Incorporating his background as a Grand Champion BBQ Pitmaster, Shane focused on providing smoked meats, classic Southern sides, and mouthwatering desserts. After just two years, Shane transformed this successful operation into a brick-and-mortar restaurant in the Bellevue area of Nashville. Shane sold his interest in HoneyFire in 2021 and opened Cledis Burgers & Beer Garden (named after his grandfather) in the fall of 2022. With Shane at the helm his restaurants have won numerous awards, appeared in multiple “best of” lists, and garnered critical acclaim in publications and broadcasts such as Eater, Forbes, Fox News, Cooking Channel, and more. Shane was a featured chef at the Yuma Harvest Dinner Festival, and appeared on Food Network’s “Chopped” and "Food Paradise". At Cledis Burgers & Beer Garden, Shane has built a creative menu featuring unique signature burgers and wings, tasty shareables, and delicious desserts. Cledis burgers are made using the tried-and-true method of cast iron cooking (a Southern staple that creates a buttery crust on the patty) and served on a toasted potato roll. While Cledis is considered a fast-casual dine-in restaurant, it does include a full-service bar featuring 24 celebrated local beers on tap. Finally, in order to truly make a positive impact on the hunger crisis in Nashville, Shane has structured Cledis’s operations to donate a generous percentage of all burger profits to proven local organizations focused on feeding our homeless, underserved, and impoverished neighbors. Just as his grandpa did with his own roadside cafe, Shane plans to feed anyone in need of a meal, regardless of ability to pay. Shane’s deep desire is to see Cledis continue to become a fixture in the community - a place where everyone is welcome, where locals can unwind, where visitors enjoy a bit of Southern hospitality, and where people come from all around to get their burger fix and experience the legacy of the legend who was Cledis.
