Ever since immigrating to Canada and trying North American foods, there was no going back to Borscht & Kasha!
Growing up in a poor immigrant family I quickly found a use for every ounce of every bit of food & used that attitude to drive our thriving BBQ business. Whether its using the scrap trimmings to make sausage & burgers or donating leftovers to charity, I make it a habit to let nothing go to waste. As my culinary experience grew, so did my thirst to learn from the best. Doing business in a small town made me realize I needed to go out & learn from people outside my region so I started in the world of competition BBQ where our team results have steadily increased before learning about the World Food Championships after getting a last minute entry into the 2017 Canadian Food Championships where a fraction of a point stopped me from advancing to the WFC. Knowing what mistakes I made has made me hungry to come back to not only qualify in 2020, but ready to cook for the gold!
