I was raised in the restaurant business where I worked in the kitchen since able to handle a knife and run the industrial dishwasher....I would say 12 ish! My mother comes from an Italian heritage where recipes are handed down through the generations. My father comes from an Irish heritage where you used whatever was left in the pantry or fridge in addition to some root veggies to create new and exciting recipes on the fly! Combining these techniques lead me to a "Gypsy Cuisinier" approach to cooking. About 10 years ago I started to enter online recipe contests and love the thrill of recieiving "that email" telling you someone other than your family enjoys your food ;) My day job for the last 16 years has been an elementary school secretary and as I look forward to retirement, this new Food Sport may be my next best adventure!
