HEAD COOK: Kriston Poe

COMPETITION: World Recipe Championship

I'm an Arizona native and I love spending time with my family, enjoy camping, fishing, working in the garden and working with recipes to try out on family and friends. I'm a High School Culinary Instructor and a Career Through Culinary Arts Program Instructor (C-CAP). I teach grades 9th-12th the basics of cooking, baking and professional cooking. As an instructor, I am always encouraging my students to challenge themselves to perfect their culinary skills. I had the privilege in 2017 to attend the World Food Championship in Alabama as a Sous Chef. Since then competing has become a focus in my kitchen everyday at school. I challenge my culinary students to bring their top skills each day and this has only fueled my passion to do my best. I was determined to enter more food competitions so, I could return to the World Food Championship. In 2019, I entered the Taste of America in Arizona and placed 2nd which qualified me for last years competition. This spring, I entered the Ka-pop Snacks Recipe Challenge and took 1st place Nationally and this qualified me to head back to compete in the 2020 World Food Championship in Dallas, Texas. Looking forward to competing again and seeing our WFC family.
