HEAD COOK: Jackie Milligan
COMPETITION: Fire & Ice Women's BBQ Championship
I'm Jackie Milligan from San Antonio, TX. I first started competing in the dessert categories at bbq cookoff's a couple of years ago that my husband, Tim entered. I then entered the chef's choice categories at cookoff's and won. Then something in me sparked and I told myself, not to be intimidated by all the men competing in the meat categories. So I set my fears aside, bought a user friendly Pit by Pitmaker, attached it to my husbands BBQ trailer and jumped into a full blown IBCA comp. I won Reserve Grand Champion that day - and I was Hooked! From that moment on - I wanted to learn as much as I could about being the best I could be, and becoming a leading Lady Pitmaster.
Then on April of 2017 - The most amazing opportunity came knocking on my door. I was blessed to be an Ambassador to Chupacabra Rubs located here in my hometown. Since then, I've been competing as Team Chupacabra and it's been incredible.
Winning the Fire & Ice Hott Pass at Turn n Burn:
The moment I saw that the Fire & Ice Women's BBQ challenge was going to be held at the Pleasanton Turn n Burn Cookoff - I immediately told Tim that I wanted to be a part of it. I called Alton Paris, owner of Chupacabra Rubs the next day and asked him if he could please sign me up.
I won the Hott Pass and I've been on cloud 9* ever since! I keep re-living that day, that moment, that joyous feeling - every day since then. This is what I love. And I am blessed to say it's also what I do!
Blessed beyond measure and truly grateful to be a part of WFC!
