HEAD COOK: Amber Johnson

COMPETITION: World Recipe Championship


Amber Johnson is a retired disabled Navy Corpsman, single mom of a 16-year daughter, and to a loving fur baby named Bandit. She grew up in Lilburn, Georgia and now lives in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Right after the military, she attended the Art Institute of Atlanta, where she graduated with both her Associates in Culinary, and Bachelor’s of Culinary Arts Management. Amber was the captain of the culinary competition ACF team at AIA. The team went on to compete in the hot foods and knowledge bowl events. Later on, she began working for Kevin Gillespie’s restaurant Revival while attending school. After working at Revival, she moved onto Lure. Amber loves to incorporate Paleo, Mexican, and Asian flavors into her food. She especially loves to promote Paleo and the healthy way of cooking due to her disabilities. This helps her maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle. “Food is a way of life, it is essential to function and be healthy!
