Makeover My Leftover
HEAD COOK: Susanne Duplantis
COMPETITION: World Open Chili Championship
I grew up on a step-stool in my grandmother's kitchen. I was her little sous chef way before I ever knew that term. I learned it and so much more in my 22 years as general manager and catering chef in the restaurant industry. In 2014, I suffered a stroke. I had to leave the business I loved but fortunately not my passion-cooking. Seeing my share of food waste over the years, inspired me to begin my food blog, Makeover My Leftover, to help families reduce food waste and save money. I cater intimate gatherings and teach small cooking classes. I enjoy doing cooking demos and have a monthly segment on a CBS affiliate station. I'm also writing my first cookbook- on leftovers, of course! I got a taste of the WFC competition as a blogger in 2015 and as a Certified E.A.T. Judge in 2016. I'm excited for my WFC 2017 experience!
