Official State Qualifiers

WFC is proud to welcome the following State Partners into our Food Sport Network. Through these new partnerships, it is our goal to identify and qualify the best chefs, home cooks and competition teams in each respective state. As always, each team will have to earn its way into the WFC Championship, and our State Partners will be instrumental in making this possible through various contests and competitions. 

If you’re a team or chef looking to compete in the largest culinary competition in the World, please review these opportunities and contact our State Partners for more details on their qualifying process. Each will be a little different, and there are some exceptions as well.

As we learn more about each partner’s process, we will add that info here. So check back often, and stay tuned for the most immediate updates on our official WFC social media channels!

ALABAMA
The media group Alabama Coasting is the official Alabama State Partner for qualifying teams into WFC2018. They will be awarding 20 Golden Tickets through online and food events throughout the state. The winners will represent Team Alabama. Exceptions for 2018 include Wharf Uncorked, Alabama Gulf Seafood Challenge, Grand Champion BBQ and Chili teams in officially sanctioned contests, existing Team Gulf Coast events, the online Taste of America Challenge, and any team that won a Golden Ticket at WFC2017. GEORGIA
The Greater McDonough Business Association is the official Georgia State Partner for qualifying teams into WFC2018. They will be awarding 20 Golden Tickets to teams through various events. Exceptions for 2018 include any Chili Grand Champions from other sanctioned events in Georgia, the online Taste of America Challenge, and any team that won a Golden Ticket at WFC 2017. MISSOURI
ACWW, a Culinary Consortium, is the official Missouri State Partner for qualifying teams into WFC2018. They will be awarding 20 Golden Tickets to teams through the WFC Show Me Series, a variety of chef and branded competitions. Exceptions for 2018 include any BBQ and Chili Grand Champions from other sanctioned events, the online Taste of America Challenge, in Missouri and any team that won a Golden Ticket at WFC 2017. TENNESSEE
The Chattanooga Magazine is the official Tennessee State Partner for qualifying teams into WFC2018. It will be awarding 10 Golden Tickets to teams through various events at the Chattanooga Market and surrounding area. Some of their premier events include the Five Star Food Fight and Cast Iron Cookoff. More events will be announced by the magazine in the first quarter of 2018. Exceptions for 2018 include any BBQ and Chili Grand Champions from other sanctioned events in Tennessee, the online Taste of America Challenge, and any team that won a Golden Ticket at WFC 2017.

TEXAS
The Port Aransas & Mustang Island Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau is the official Texas State Partner for qualifying teams into WFC2018. It will be awarding 20 Golden Tickets at a special Super Regional Qualifier in October, as well as other chef/competition events throughout the year. More details will be announced by the Port A Chamber and Tourism Bureau soon. Exceptions for 2018 include any BBQ and Chili Grand Champions from other sanctioned events in Texas, the online Taste of America Challenge, and any team that won a Golden Ticket at WFC2017.





California State Qualifier Logo -- 2018-wfc-official-qualifier-team-ca-v1a_0.png
CALIFORNIA
Gotham Steel is the official California State Partner for qualifying teams into WFC2019. It will be awarding Golden Tickets at a special Super Regional Qualifier in the Spring. More details will be announced by the Gotham Steel. Exceptions for 2019 include any BBQ and Chili Grand Champions from other sanctioned events in California, the online Taste of America Challenge, and any team that won a Golden Ticket at WFC2018.
