Nancy Angelici

HEAD COOK: Nancy Angelici

COMPETITION: World Recipe Championship

QUALIFYING EVENT: US Potato Board - Online Contest

I am a mom, (whose 2 sons are my best(and worst) food critics!), Award Winning Home Cook, and Creative Recipe Developer. My passion and love and passion of cooking and baking, started many years ago. Taught by my Italian Grandmother, going back to my high chairs days (yes, many, many years ago!), when she gave me a piece of dough, some sliced apples, and Viola, my first apple pie! Growing up in an Italian family, you learn quickly that the kitchen is the heart of the home, and that cooking for others, is one of the greatest ways to show your love. I first started recipe contests and competitions, about 22 years ago, starting with my State Fair, winning ribbons for my peach pie, and blueberry crumb muffins, and I have consistently entered contests and competitions ever since! In addition, I also became part of an online cooking competition in 2010, The Real Women of Philadelphia, won several prizes, and also had my winning recipe published in their cookbook. In 2012, I became a finalist in Eggland's Best,Your Best Recipe Contest, with my famous Cannoli Cream Cheesecake. I have also had the experience of auditioning for reality cooking show competitions. I have also recently became part of other online cooking groups/competitions, Cooking with Nonna and Just a Pinch. I absolutely love to compete, and to be able to share my many creations for others to enjoy. Also, one of my greatest joys, is being able to help others. I belong to a wonderful moms group in my town, and when the need arises, prepare meals for the moms in town who are suffering with cancer, making the burden of having to cook for their family, a little bit easier. I would also, one day, be able to open a Hometown Café in my town, that in one way or another, would be able to benefit many moms. Being able to compete now, by winning with one of my recipes that is so true to my heritage, is certainly an honor and a privilege for me.
