QUALIFYING EVENT: Michigan Apple Recipe ContestI began my love for good food at an early age, my mother was an amazing cook who let me assist her in the kitchen. When she made her bread, donuts or cinnamon rolls, it was pure heaven at our house and for anybody who stopped by. In high school, I had the most amazing home economics teacher. She gave me a lot of inspiration and was quite impressed with my ability to knead dough and make delicious pies. I also worked beside my mother in restaurants, banquet halls as well as catering for parties. The last 6 years I have competed in the Frankenmuth Snow Fest apple pie contest. I have enjoyed participating every year, though this year was special, being the Grand Prize Winner and a trip to the World Food Championship. I still can't believe it. November is coming soon and I am proud and honored to represent the Michigan Apple Committee.
