As a self-taught chef and pitmaster, my journey took an unconventional turn. Fresh out of college, I embarked on a career in the corporate world within a Fortune 500 company. It didn't take long for me to realize that the conventional suit-and-tie lifestyle was not my calling. Driven by a passion for culinary arts, I made a pivotal decision to invest in my own culinary dreams. I took a leap of faith and acquired a food truck, a move that marked the beginning of an extraordinary chapter in my life. For seven successful years, I owned and operated that food truck, mastering the art of mobile cuisine. Subsequently, I ventured into the realm of fine dining, serving as the Executive Sous Chef at the prestigious Cast Iron Chop House, renowned for its high-end steakhouse offerings. My culinary journey continued to evolve, leading me to the role of District Pitmaster for Bear's Smokehouse right here in Connecticut, where I explored the intricate nuances of barbecue. Presently, I hold the esteemed positions of Executive Chef and Catering Director at Archie Moore's bar and restaurant in New Haven, Connecticut. My culinary path has been an untraditional yet remarkable odyssey, guided by a deep-seated passion for the culinary arts.
