From your first qualifier to the Final Table — every step of the WFC journey, explained. From humble beginnings to a World Food Champion.
To compete at the World Food Championships, you must win your way there. There are no open registrations — every competitor earns their spot by winning a WFC-sanctioned qualifier event or through a special Founder's exemption for award-winning chefs. With 800+ qualifying events happening across the U.S. and internationally year-round, there's an entry point for every cook.
The WFC Main Event is a 4-day live culinary tournament held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center in Indianapolis. Over 1,500 competitors from around the world arrive ready to battle for championship glory and prove they belong among the best in Food Sport.
WFC runs the fairest food competition on earth. These are the core principles every competitor must know.
After the 10 category champions are crowned at the Main Event, they face one final gauntlet. The WFC Final Table is a standalone championship event where all category winners battle across multiple elimination rounds to determine a single World Food Champion.
