It has always been a dream of mine to own our own restaurant even as a very young child. I have always been drawn to the kitchen with the joy and love that surrounds a table. Food to me brings emotions and feelings that surround us with generations of family before us. Our family grew up gardening and farming so we have a great appreciation for local and family owned. We opened Donna’s Cafe (Donna is my mama)in 1993!! We are in a building that was originally a bank built in the 1880s in the historic downtown area. I started cooking for my family as chore night and of course it was my favorite thing to do!! I still work in the kitchen everyday preparing and sharing family recipes as well as my love of throwing together awesome recipes with what we have on hand.
I am a mother of 6 children. Of those there are 2 sets of TWINS!!! I got double blessed twice!
