QUALIFYING EVENT: Instructables Bacon Contest
My first memories of food are of my great grandmother cooking oversized portions of deep fried chicken with massive spoonfuls of buttery mashed potatoes.She would finish the meal with a giant slice of fresh baked red velvet cake. My fondest memory was of her wooden butter churner sitting in the corner of the kitchen. That's where my passion of food began.
In 2007, I founded a speciality food company and developed a line of artisan sugars & salts that was sold nationally. My artisan collection was featured in Charlie Trotter's store, Uncommon Goods and written up in Seattle magazine.
I am a self taught chef, mother of two boys and an entrepreneur. I'm currently working on a kids product.
When I have free time, I post my recipes on Instructbales.com, a D.I.Y online community. My work has been featured in Bon Appetite, The Huffington Post & Food Beast to name a few.
