World Food Championships Makes its Sandwich Category Legendary with Newest Food Sport Sponsor
The World Food Championships (WFC) may be making its debut in Dallas this October, but a new Food Sport sponsor is what will be making this year’s Sandwich Competition legendary. Kentucky Legend® will be bringing its award-winning proteins for WFC’s Sandwich competitors to incorporate into their opening round entry –– the Cuban.
Kentucky Legend® is the number-one selling natural juice boneless ham in America’s retail grocery channel. Its product portfolio includes whole, half and quarter sliced ham/turkey, thick-sliced ham/turkey lunch meat and pork chops.
Sandwich competitors will be using Kentucky Legend Quarter Sliced Ham to construct their Structured Dish, a Cuban sandwich. (To learn more about WFC’s 2019 Tournament Chart, click here).
“We’re ecstatic to be a partner in this year’s World Food Championships. We look forward to seeing our champion-worthy products in the hands of so many talented competitors participating this year,” said Curtis Hansen, Director of Sales and Marketing for Indiana Packers Corporation.
Along with providing products for the Structured Build round of competition, Kentucky Legend® will be featured in other areas of the food fest. Foodies will have the chance to sample the company’s premium products in the Walmart Tasting Pavilion (included with general admission).
“Great ingredients can make or break a dish at our championships,” said Mike McCloud, president and CEO of WFC. “For this reason, we strive to bring in great companies like Kentucky Legend®, onboard to ensure that our Food Champs have the best products to create their recipes.”
