World Food Championships Expands Its Food Champ Recipe Club Program

The world’s largest Food Sport competition has partnered with Walmart for a second season of the Food Champ Recipe Club program (FCRC). As a result, FCRC –– an extension of the World Food Championships (WFC) enterprise ––  will be adding culinary professionals to its team.

FCRC’s primary focus is to educate the public on creating easy, chef-centric, affordable recipes using Walmart’s private brand products.

The 2018 program was a huge success throughout the country. Over 25 culinary professionals came together and created more than 50 FCRC recipes, handed out over 100,000 samples and participated in more than 370 demos at 173 Walmart locations.

In addition to providing the public with tasty ideas for at-home use, FCRC created quite an online buzz by generating nearly 5 million social media impressions and over 15 million media outlet impressions.

“Our program with Walmart demonstrates how to elevate everyday dishes using affordable products,” said Mike McCloud, President and CEO of WFC. “As we prepare to build off 2018’s success, we will need more talented Food Champs to join our team and make that happen.”

For its 2019 season, WFC is now taking applications for any culinary professional interested in joining this program. Applicants are required to provide information about their culinary background and food safety training. To prepare for the in-store activations, new FCRC team members will be put through an extensive training process at the second annual Food Champ University in the spring.

More details about the Food Champ Recipe Club and Food Champ University will be shared with qualified participants. In the meantime, potential candidates who would like to be considered for FCRC can submit an application here.
