WFC Releases Registration Dates and Initial List of Qualifying Events For 2024

On the heels of this week’s exciting announcement about its move to Indianapolis, the World Food Championships (WFC) has just announced its initial list of official qualifying events and partners for this year’s tournament. Registration for teams who earn their qualification through any of this year’s “gateway” events will open on March 15, 2024.

Even better news for teams who are already qualified – through their performance at last year’s competition or previous category wins – WFC will host an “Early Bird Registration” beginning March 1, 2024 and ending March 14, 2024.

Registration fees for anyone qualified to register through “Early Bird” are $500 per team. Regular registration fees are $1,000 per team.

While there are more events that will be added as the season kicks off, the current list includes the following:

Taste of America, WFC’s Online Virtual Contest and largest qualifier, will award numerous entries into 2024’s Main Event. The first contest is scheduled to kick off in April, 2024.

Additionally, WFC has partnered with the following entities to create State or Regional Gateways:

  • Maryland Restaurant Association - Maryland

  • Unltd Ventures- Missouri

  • D.a.T Sauce - Louisiana

On the global front, WFC has established a relationship with the following International Partners who will be holding their own events that will qualify teams into WFC to represent their country of origin:

Additionally, the leader in Food Sport has confirmed an official list of Preferred Qualifiers. Preferred Qualifiers are cooking competitions that meet WFC guidelines and specifications for conducting fair contests and certifying winners. Champions of these events will receive a 2024 Golden Ticket with a paid entry.

Here is an initial list of the 2024 Preferred Qualifiers. Additional events and dates will be added throughout the year:
