I began cooking and baking as a young girl. My mother cooked in the school system and at one time ran a coffee shop, so my sister and I were left to do meal preparation at home. They were not fancy, just basic meals. Then after getting married and having children it seemed the cooking just continued. I did strive to have dinner together around our table. Since I retired after forty five years of nursing, I can experiment with recipes and enter contests
