COMPETITION: World Seafood Championship
I am a mother of 2 and a grandmother of 3. I have been a cashier for Giant Food for 33 years. Quite often I get ideas for cooking contests from watching what my customers are purchasing. I will even ask them what they do with some of the more unusual vegetables like taro root and yellow name. I enjoy gardening, photography and entering cooking contests as a hobby. This will be my fourth trip to the World Food Championships, qualifying as a first place winner in the Taste Of America Contest representing Maryland! I also placed second in the WFC Bubba Burger Online Contest! In 2016 I was the winner of the National Cornbread Cook Off, South Pittsburgh, Tennessee. This past June I was declared the winner of the National Festival Of Breads bread baking contest in Manhattan, Kansas. I competed recently at the National Mushroom Cook Off on September 9, 2017 at Kennett Square, Pennsylvania and I will compete the National Oyster Cook Off in Leonardtown, Maryland on October 21, 2017. I am thrilled to be competing at this WFC in the Seafood Category! I feel like I have learned a lot from participating at 3 World Food Championships and I'm ready to rock and roll in Orange Beach!!!!!!
