Alabama Gulf Seafood Returns to Ultimate Food Fight

World Food Championships (WFC) announced today that Alabama Gulf Seafood will be returning to the main event Nov. 7-11, 2018 in Orange Beach, Ala. as the presenting sponsor of the World Seafood Championship.

This is the third consecutive year for Alabama Gulf Seafood to be at the heart of the Ultimate Food Fight, bringing fresh seafood options to the table for Food Champs to use in their championship dishes. For 2018, the Alabama Gulf Seafood pantry will focus on mahi-mahi, which will be required in the structured round of the seafood category. Contestants will have to prepare the fish with cedar planks or grilling wraps from Western Wood Premium BBQ Products.

“Quality organizations and food products are a big part of WFC’s success,” said Mike McCloud, CEO/President of the World Food Championships (WFC). “Alabama Gulf Seafood is both. They are a fantastic organization with a great focus on working with companies and restaurants to provide fresh Gulf seafood year-round.”

Chefs and cooks in other categories will also have the opportunity to use fresh seafood options in their entry dishes thanks to the partnership and additional pantry support from Alabama Gulf Seafood.

“We are thrilled to return to the Ultimate Food Fight for another year and provide these talented cooks with freshest local seafood to create their recipes,” commented Chris Blankenship, commissioner of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and program administrator for Alabama Seafood Marketing Commission. “We can’t wait to see what amazing dishes these Food Champs construct using Alabama Gulf Seafood.”

The 7th Annual WFC, presented by Walmart, will be held Nov. 7-11 at The Wharf in Orange Beach, Ala.
