50 American, 20 International Teams Will Compete in Barbecue at WFC 2019
The World Food Championships (WFC) announced today that its barbecue field will be limited to a total of 70 teams for its eighth annual competition in Dallas, Texas. The event, which features ten categories and awards over $350,000 in cash, will be held at Reunion Tower Lawn from Oct. 16-20. MORE
Maryland Joins Food Sport As State Partner for 2019
World Food Championships (WFC) announced today that it has entered into an agreement with The Restaurant Association of Maryland for the state of Maryland to be represented at WFC 2019. The association will be awarding four Golden Tickets to Maryland chefs through its Maryland Foodie Fest, which is set for June 22, 2019. MORE

  • 2019 Wild Card Elite


    online on January 2-October 1, 2019

    Up to 20 contestants can purchase a Wild Card Elite Golden Ticket for a $1,000 entry fee. Upon that purchase, competitors will handpick one of WFC’s ten categories to compete in. In addition, these Golden Ticket holders will be entered into a tournament bracket of their own, where the top scoring finishers from the Wild Card Elite Division will be going home with extra cash.
